Hello,
I've recently changed my GPU and I've got two different displays. One of them is AOC G2460PG which sports only display port, second one is 4:3 DVI display. I also changed my GPU from GTX 970 to AMD HD 5770 because of release of GTX1070 (waiting for price drop)
I started up my ubuntu (multiboot PC with windows) and figured out that 4:3 works good, but I can only see a small squared display on AOC which gets called Unknown Display anyway.
I used apt update and upgrade to see if that changes anything, nope.
I checked the resolution in ubuntu displays and it showed me only 1280x768. I thought that drivers may be the issue so I tried to install flgrx, but it failed as 16.04 no longer supports it - but I figured it out after my attempts.
I also tried to install this http://ift.tt/1S4u6ip
After all of this I rebooted my PC, but ubuntu no longer boots. It gets stuck on sda5 fsck.
I can use previous kernel to start ubuntu normally, but there are errors about xorg.
I tried to use boot-repair, I did use fsck and dpkg in recovery.
I'm not really sure how to get my ubuntu to work like it did before on latest kernel (.34) or at least get my AOC display to work properly.
I would really appreciate some assistance on this.
[ubuntu] 16.04 locks up after fsck, possibly due to installing displaylink driver or/and fglrx
