No internet connections while Gnome on surface pro first gen

Hey Guys,

So, I'm running Gnome on a surface pro first gen and I have a couple problems.

1. No internet connections. It won't even show me the ability to search for internet connections without going into network settings and even then it shows no connections. When I iwconfig it says "lo no wireless extensions" and it also does not see any proprietary drivers while when I was running Mate, it would.

2. I also cannot get the auto rotate to work.

Any advice?
