[ubuntu] Total noob can't even try ubunto 14.06...

Hi

This is my first time looking into Ubuntu and I'm having trouble trying to run ubunto 14.06 from a USB stick or disc. I was looking into external booting, just to see if I liked ubuntu etc, before doing any install. Ideally it's for an old machine that uses Vista, but I've also tried on a Macbook Pro and a new Windows 10 machine, and it just 'aint happening for me. So I'm clearly doing something very basic wrong... 😏

Having downloaded the ubunto OS file onto my Macbook Pro desktop, I dragged it across to the USB stick. Is ther something else I should be doing? Is there something about making it 'live'?

If someone could give me basic instructions for dummies, it might help!
