[ubuntu] Seagate Backup plus 1TB[ 3 partitions ] not detected

I am using Ubuntu 14.04

I have same problem as mentioned here http://ift.tt/2aYqsZR

lsusb can show it, but after trying so many times, i am unable to get it working.

If this hard drive is incompatible with Ubuntu, then please tell me which hard drive(brand/model) should i buy, and which external hard drives you guys are using on ubuntu.
