I am considering buying a new Lenovo P50 laptop with the mobile Xeon E3-1505M v5, NVIDIA Quadro M2000M 4GB, and 15.6 4K(3840x2160) IPS Non-Touch display.
Does anyone here have first hand experience with Ubuntu 16.04 on a Lenovo P50 with the NVidia graphics and a 4K display?
I want to make sure it will work properly without having to screw around with all kinds of things to get 16.04 to run. I don't care if the 15" LCD does 4K as long as it will do HD (1080p?). I intend to use it as a desktop replacement and drive a ~40" 4K TV @60hz (4:4:4) as a monitor and I want to make sure it will do it before I spend $2200.
Lenovo says the Intel Switchable Graphics Feature works and you use the bios to make the choice so there would be no software issues if I had to use the built in Intel Graphics. Can someone confirm the P530 graphics work properly with 16.04?
Thanks
