Nvidia colour calibration resets on application opening - Help please!

Hi all,

New to Ubuntu but having some issues getting it working on my gaming setup, I have 3x monitors and 2x GTX970 in SLI.

I have configured the monitors, moved monitors.xml, changed the colour calibration - made nvidia-settings.rc read-only and made nvidia-settings --load-config-only run at start-up.

BUT, whenever I open a game, or fullscreen a video, my colour calibration settings reset and bring my gamma back up to 1.0, I have to manually run nvidia-settings --load-config-only to get it back to normal.

What am I doing wrong?
